1948 Models



Detroit's Zimmer Boat & Trailer Company brought out one of the earliest two (or "tandem") -axle coaches in 1941. By 1948, their DELUXE 30 tandem rig was a top seller.

The "30 footer" was making inroads in the mobile home marketplace in the late '40s. The DELUXE 30 coach provided ample (for the time) closet space. One might wonder about the twin-size bed in the rear...was there no double bed in the unit?

M System Trailer Coaches of Vicksburg, Mississippi were building and selling four models in '48. The product line started with the 18 1/2 ' Little 'm', advanced to the 21' Hunter and 25 1/2 ' Special Deluxe, and ended with the top-of-the-line 27 1/2 ' TANDEM DELUXE

On the inside, the TANDEM DELUXE rig -supposedly "designed for spacious living"- was actually rather cramped. However, there was a half bath, which was still a premium feature. Other amenities included a 6 cubic foot refrigerator, built-in vanity and built-in dinette (which doubled as an extra bed).
