1951 Models



MODEL 233, from the Windy City's Glider Trailer Company, extended for 33 feet. It featured an all-aluminum exterior with a "bonderized lustre finish".

On the interior, there was a built-in, expandable dining table, 6 cubic foot electric refrigerator and "hot and cold shower". There was a bathroom (of sorts), but it did not have a commode.

Travelmaster Coach Corporation, one of the many Hoosier State home builders, was manufacturing four 34-foot models in 1951. These would have had either one or two bedrooms and a shower bath, which included a small lavatory.

In a floor plan of a Travelmaster 34 footer, we see how revolutionary this unit was! In an era when virtually EVERY mobile home was built using the standard both exterior doors in front plan, this trailer had a door in front and in back, with its kitchen sink running along the front side of the rig (instead of along the rear wall).
