1954 Models

The Ventoura Homes Sales Corporation was a subsidiary of Elwood, Indiana's Holan Engineering Company. They introduced a double-decker mobile home in the early 1950s. The 10-wide coach would not make its debut until 1956, so -in the early-to-mid 1950s- the only way to build a more spacious house trailer was to go UP not OUT.

A cut-away Ventoura view. Stacking bedrooms atop one another required some low interior ceilings. The upper level sleeping quarters were strictly for small children!

The 1954 LOFT-LINER "Land Yacht" was an 8' by 40' rig. It included three bedrooms, a full bath (with tub), nice-sized kitchen and dining area, as well as a "sunken living room ". However, the stairway to its upper bedrooms looks mighty narrow in this floor plan.
